The C.H.A.N.G.E. Lab: Chronic Pain Edition™

A structured, neuroplasticity-based chronic pain coaching program for people who are ready to stop managing their pain and start changing the experience of it.

This program exists because the standard approach to chronic pain — medications, procedures, pain management — addresses the signal without ever asking what is generating it. The C.H.A.N.G.E. Lab asks that question. Then it gives you the tools to answer it.

The C.H.A.N.G.E. Lab is a hybrid chronic pain coaching program that combines structured course modules with weekly live sessions with Cynthia Austin, board-certified coach. It is grounded in current pain neuroscience and nervous system science, and built around evidence-informed behavior change principles.

This coaching for the pain experience program works because it addresses what is actually driving chronic pain — learned protective patterns in the brain and nervous system — and creates the conditions for those patterns to change. Not through willpower. Not through pushing through. Through understanding, structured guidance, and the kind of consistent practice that gives the nervous system what it needs to learn something different.

Every tool in this program has been lived, tested, and refined. Nothing here is theoretical.

This is not therapy. It is not a medical treatment. It is not a passive online course you work through alone.

This is an active, coach-guided chronic pain coaching program.

It requires daily engagement in small, manageable steps.

It is designed for people who are emotionally stable and ready to do the work — not people in acute mental health crisis or requiring acute clinical medical care.

What To Expect

This pain management coaching program is delivered in a structured sequence of modules, each building on the last. Modules are completed at your own pace, with weekly live coaching sessions with Cynthia for integration, reflection, and personalized guidance.

Some modules take more than one week — because integration, not information, is the goal. Pacing is adapted to your needs throughout the program. The focus is always on progress, not perfection.

Sessions are conducted via telehealth and are available to clients across the United States and internationally.

Who This Is For

This coaching program is designed for people living with chronic pain — including conditions such as fibromyalgia, chronic back or neck pain, migraines, and other persistent pain conditions — who are ready to engage with a different kind of approach.

You may be a good fit if you are ready for lifestyle behavior change, have tried conventional pain management without achieving lasting relief, are willing to engage daily in small and manageable steps, and are open to understanding your pain experience through the lens of neuroscience and nervous system science.

Who This Is Not For

This program is not appropriate for individuals currently in active mental health crisis, those requiring acute medical care, or those who are not yet ready for an active behavior change process. Coaching is not a substitute for medical or mental health treatment. Appropriate referrals are always provided when needed.
